My One Word

Words matter. Whether they are spoken, heard, or believed…they stay with us and mold us.

Many years ago, we started a tradition of selecting one word to be our WORD for the year. It needs to be something the Lord is leading you to—either due to circumstances in your life, or a repeated pattern of learning in the Bible. Once selected, that word becomes the backdrop of all you do.

In this episode, Gari shares her word harvest and Carla’s words trust and redeem (two words, but we’re going with it!)

At Gutsy Faith, we’re inviting all our listeners to select a word for the year. Here are some tips for selecting your word:

1.        PRAY: Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your mind a word that resonates or instructs. Don’t overthink it. It may be a common word like trust, release, hope. Whatever surfaces, ask God what word He has for your year.

2.        WRITE: Write your word somewhere that’s easy to remember and easy to access so you can continually refer back to it. Go back to it often and record things that align with the word’s purpose in your life.

3.        SHARE: Share your word with someone else. By sharing your word, you allow other people to be a part of reminding and rejoicing!
